A small, lightweight ship deployed in large numbers to defend the rest of the fleet and deploy drones, mines, and flak. Used by both Human and Cephalopod fleets.
Human[edit]
Typically crewed by a captain, an engineer, a weapons officer, a medical specialist, a pilot, and the ship AI themselves. Very limited space, but equipped with its own FTL core. Often put in the front of fleet formations as a screening line. In the Battle of Orpheus, hundreds of thousands were deployed, and thousands were lost.
These ships have a notable variant, the Stealth Frigate, which is used by MagOps teams.
Cephalopod[edit]
Holds similar duties compared to its Human counterparts, with the addition of operating as a light anti-personnel platform. Like all Cephalopod ships, they benefit from their superior forcefield technology.
