A core component of any spacefaring force, used by both [[Human]] and [[Cephalopod]] [[fleets]].

==Human==

Primary role is fleet defense and [[Magi Cæli]] support. They also have a stealth variant which works with [[magical girl]]s as mobile armories and medical units. In defending the rest of the fleet, they often form a "line" of defense, either with or behind the [[frigate]]s, which are in turn behind a wall of drones, smart mines, and other sub-sentient defensive tools. Named after famous statesmen, unless they choose a different name for themselves.

==Cephalopod==

Primary role is fleet defense, acting as a heavy anti‐personnel platform which can deploy hard radiation bombs and EMP pulses. In the [[Battle of Orpheus]], the first stealth variants were deployed. Like their Human counterpart, they have their own FTL cores, one of which [[Asami]] destroys in the previously mentioned battle.
